TreeTop in Action: Volunteering with Smart Bellies to Combat Child Hunger
At TreeTop, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting children beyond just our own programs. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with Smart Bellies this August to take action against child hunger in our local area.
Our Volunteering Experience
In August, the TreeTop team, joined by their families, spent the evening packing nutritious meals for children in Leadville and Summit County. It was a hands-on experience that allowed us to directly contribute to the well-being of kids who might otherwise go hungry during weekends and school breaks.
The meals we packed were more than just food; they were a source of stability and care for families in need. Knowing that our efforts helped ensure these children had access to nutritious meals during times when school-provided lunches weren’t available made the experience deeply rewarding.
Why This Matters:
Childhood hunger is an issue that affects not only physical health but also a child’s ability to learn and thrive. By working with Smart Bellies, we were able to play a small part in addressing this critical need in our community.
Looking Forward:
This was our first collaboration with Smart Bellies, but it’s just the beginning. We’re committed to finding more opportunities to support their mission and make a positive impact on the lives of children in our community.
Volunteering with Smart Bellies reinforced our belief in the importance of community-driven efforts. We look forward to more collaborations like this and encourage others to join us in supporting local initiatives that make a difference.
